Former Barcelona star, Lionel Messi has disclosed why he chose to join the French club, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) after leaving Barcelona in 2021.
The Argentina captain opened up on his decision during an exclusive interview with Bein Sports, where he revealed he opted for the Ligue 1 club because it was easier for him to adapt there.
He further said the influence of international teammates such as Angel Di Maria and Leandro Paredes made his decision more straight-forward.
Speaking during the chat, Messi said: “I came to Paris because I liked the club and had friends there, and a lot of people I knew from the national team.
“It seemed easier for me to adapt unlike anywhere else I could have gone and that’s why I decided to come to Paris,”
