The former representative of the Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani, has advocated for a speedy reconciliation between the Catholic cleric of Enugu Adoration Ministry, Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka, and the Presidency.

He said that Father Mbaka was a patriot and deserved respect.

Sani, via his twitter, @ShehuSani, was reacting to a statement issued by the Presidency that Mbaka called for President Muhammadu Buhari’s resignation because he was not awarded contract by Buhari.

He however appealed to Buhari “to place a phone call and reconcile with Mbaka”, whom he described as a Nigerian who is also qualified for a contract.

The senator said that the reconciliation was necessary for people not to regard the president as anti-Christian or anti-tribe.

His words: “People who believe in the unity of this country should not be disgracefully pushed to the hands of separatists.

“Even Chinese, Arabs, Jews and Europeans are given contracts.”

While supporting Sani’s tweet, Tetuso stated: “Exactly so. We have a Presidency that has declared war on Christian clerics and leaders. I now regret ever condemning Oyedepo and other Christian leaders for attacking Buhari.

“Buhari and his people have no respect for Christians.”

But Keuamu had a different view. He stated,

“If stories leak that favours were given to supporters indiscriminately, critics will scream ‘corruption’ to high heavens. Now, stories leak that government insisted on due process, yet they say, ‘there’s nothing wrong in asking for favours in that manner.’ What do we want as a people?”

Damni responded, asking: “Is Mbaka qualified for the contract? Did he follow due process? According to the presidency he was asked to follow the laid down procedure. May be he isn’t qualified that’s why he didn’t get the contract.”
