Afrobeats singer, songwriter and pianist, Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel popularly known as Mayorkun has slammed the decision of the National Assembly to purchase new SUV vehicles for themselves
The ‘Up To Something’ crooner who gave the advice via his social media page said that the Senators and House of Representatives members should have fixed Nigerian roads instead of buying new vehicles.
A cross section of Nigerians had taken to various social media to criticise the procurement of 2023 model Toyota Prado for 469 members of the Assembly after the news made the rounds.

However, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Services, Sunday Karimi, later justified the purchase of the vehicles in a chat with journalists, saying “Nigerian roads are bad.”
Reacting to the senator’s justification of the purchase of the automobiles, Mayorkun took to his Snapchat page to chastise the lawmakers, urging them to fix Nigerian roads,
He was particularly critical of the Lekki-Epe Express way, which he described as “appalling”.
Speaking via his social media page, Mayorkun wrote: “Road no good, una dey buy new SUV.
“Fix the f**king rooooadddddd!!!!
“Lekki Epe Express is Terrible!. Appalling sh*t!
“Nothing like I can drive’ in this country o, I sabi road’ is a better compliment.”
