The Dean, School of General Studies, Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi, Malam Hassan Hassan, on Thursday expressed optimism that Bauchi State would witness massive socio-economic transformation under the incoming administration in the state.
Hassan, who is also the Chairman of Bauchi State chapter of the National Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bauchi, that the leadership qualities of President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, was most likely to influence affairs in Bauchi and other states.
According to him, the leadership qualities of Buhari will have positive effects on APC governors, who may follow his footsteps in ensuring a credible leadership.
“APC administration will be people-oriented and based on the socio-economic realities of our rural communities.
“It is my utmost belief that the APC government will turn things around,” he said.
Hassan also described the emergence of Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar of APC as governor-elect in the state, as victory for Bauchi people, and expressed confidence that his administration would focus on rural transformation.
“It is expected that Abubakar will focus more on rural transformation and economic development that will set Bauchi on a new path of social transformation.
“As a professional lawyer, the governor-elect believes in truth and justice, which will be brought to bear in his governance when he assumes office.
“We shall now have a true government of the people because I am very confident that he will make a difference in the life of the people., “he said.
The Dean then called on Abubakar to see his new position as an act of God and a rallying point for the transformation of Bauchi to a socio-economically vibrant state.
He also called on the people of the state, to pray for the success for the new administration when it assumed office on May 29.
“The new administration needs our cooperation, understanding and contribution, to build an economically viable state, “he stated. (NAN)
