Katsina Governor Aminu Bello Masari, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, ex-Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Buratai and a host of other dignitaries on Saturday in Daura witnessed the turbaning of the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi as “Dan Amana Daura”(the trusted son of Daura).
Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Faruq, while performing the ceremony at the Royal palace in Daura, urged Nigerians not to relent in their prayers for the President Muhammadu Buhari and the nation.
He stated that the President deserved the support and prayers of every Nigerian while piloting the affairs of the country towards her economic development as well as other challenges.

The Monarch said: “My speech is not complete without showing gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari.
“I call on all Nigerians to continue their support and prayers for the President as he navigates our great country through numerous challenges.
‘’We pray for Allah’s guidance and protection for him as he pilots our country towards economic revitalisation, progress and development.”
While justifying the title bestowed on the Minister, the Emir insisted that it was based purely on merit and his services to the Daura Emirate and to Nigeria generally.
He said: “Daura Emirate does not confer titles on people because of money. The Emirate considers the services rendered to humanity by whoever he wants to honour.
“The Kano – Daura – Katsina rail line which will terminate at Maradi ( The Niger Republic) and the Federal University of Transportation, Daura would bring us benefits in the education of our youths, create employment for our teeming youths and socio-economic development of our community and that of Nigeria.
‘’It is because of all these that we are honoring him with the title.”
Meanwhile, Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong, 21 Senators and 56 House of Representatives members on Saturday missed the turbaning of Amaechi as Dan Amanar in Daura, Katsina State.
Others who missed the ceremony were leading All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship aspirants Senators Tanko Al-Makura and Ali Modu Sheriff.
They with 42 former Senators and 50 former House of Representatives members were trapped at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja owing to flight disruption caused by bad weather.
Also trapped were seven former Deputy Governors, 13 Assembly Speakers, Ambassadors, Emirs and Royal fathers.
The bad weather, which affected flight operations at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja, left the dignitaries stranded at the airport.
A source at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) blamed poor weather for the flight disruption.
Daura, the home town of President Mohammadu Buhari, led by the Emir Alhaji Umar Faruke Umar turbaned Amaechi as the Dan Amanar Daura (Trusted Son of Daura).
Rotimi Ameachi was Rivers Speaker for eight years and ex-Governor of the oil-rich State.
He was the Director General of Buhari Campaign organisation in 2015 and 2019.
