Manchester United and French striker, Anthony Martial, has apologised to his young teammate, Dan Gore, after their heated argument in training.

According to The Guardian, the confrontation occurred after Martial was on the receiving end of a crunchy tackle from Gore during a training session at Carrington last Wednesday.

The two players were eventually pulled apart, with the more senior Martial, apologising to the 18-year-old, who was signed from Burnley in the summer.

The youngster was also pulled aside by Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag after the incident and told that first-team players should not be challenged in training because of the possibility of injuries.

Martial is currently training with Man United after his name was omitted from the list of players invited to the   France squad to prosecute the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar by Didier Deschamps

The Man United forward was reported to be in contention to replace Real Madrid striker, Kareem Benzema, following the Ballon D’or winner’s withdrawal from the French team after he picked up a muscle injury in training.

However, French tactician, Didier Deschamps, said on Sunday, November 20, that France will not replace the injured Benzema in their World Cup squad.

He went on to say he would not ask for a replacement for the Real Madrid forward even though FIFA’s rules give him until Monday to do so.

Deschamps told France’s TF1 that although the Benzema setback was “not nice”, he was confident in the depth of his squad.

“But we have an objective and we have a quality squad with players who know what awaits them. I have confidence in them.”
