Bayern Munich’s new signing Sadio Mane trained with his teammates for the first time on Friday.

Mane, 30, linked up with his new teammates at Bayern’s Säbener Straße base, two days after the record champions began pre-season training ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

Fellow summer arrivals Ryan Gravenberch and Noussair Mazraoui were also put through their paces by head coach Julian Nagelsmann.

According to Kicker, Mane’s leadership qualities shone. The Senegalese forward had a bundle of energy and yelled “together” several times during pressing situations whilst commanding teammates when in possession. It was the Senegal international that scored the first two goals in the final game.

Mane completed his move to Bayern Munich in June for a reported €41m including bonuses after six years and 120 goals across 269 games across all competitions in Liverpool. The 30-year-old signed a three-year contract with the Bundesliga champions.

Mane will have the opportunity to make his competitive debut on 29 July, when Bayern travel to DFB Cup holders RB Leipzig in the 2022 Supercup.

Bayern begin the defence of their Bundesliga title away to reigning UEFA Europa League champions Eintracht Frankfurt on 5 August. The Bavarian giants are bidding to land a record-extending 11th straight league crown.
