Manchester United are reported to have made their first breakthrough of this summer transfer window as they are set to announce their first signing.

The red half of Manchester have agreed a deal with Feyenoord to sign Dutch left-back Tyrell Malacia, making his move to Old Trafford ‘imminent’.

Malacia was initially linked with a move to France after Feyenoord agreed to a €15million deal with Lyon, but Premier League outfit, Manchester United, seem to have hijacked the deal.

According to Voetbal International, Feyenoord agreed a deal with Manchester United on Monday night and all that is needed now is the player’s consent.

Feyenoord sporting director, Frank Arnesen has also confirmed that an agreement is in place with United.

“The agreement is there,” Arnesen said, according to Metro.

“We are now waiting for Tyrell [Malacia]. If he says yes, then a transfer to Manchester United is imminent.”

If Malacia sanctions the deal, he will become United’s first signing subject to medical. His purchase could also mean the club will end their pursuit of Ajax Uruguayan defender, Lisandro Martinez, who is also left-footed.

The Dutch International shares the same agent as his compatriot, Frankie de Jong, who Manchester United are hopeful of signing in the coming weeks from Barcelona.
