Defending champion and Premier League leader, Man City, needed a second half penalty to defeat a very organized Wolverhampton Wanderers at The Etihad.
The home side had close to three-quarters of ball possession and dominated goalmouth action with 11 shots on target.
Despite City’s dominance, they were only able to breach the rearguard of the visitors once in the game.

Wolverhampton Wanderers offered little going forward and had just three shots throughout the match, with two of the shots on target.
Ederson was a bystander for most of the half. But the Brazilian was alert when it counted to keep out Kilman’s header and, in the process, complete the 100th clean sheet of his City career.
The only goal of the match occurred when referee, Jonathan Moss, pointed to the penalty spot after Joao Moutinho handled the ball inside the penalty box.
Raheem Sterling stepped up in the 66th to convert the resultant spot kick, after beating Wolves keeper, Jose Sa, to give Man City a 1-0 lead.
The result extends Man Citys’ lead over their nearest rival, Liverpool, who play Aston Villa after their game to 4 points.
