Paris St Germain (PSG) dropped to the second position after they were held by RB Leipzig, paving the way for Manchester City to go top with a 4-1 win over Brugge at the Etihad Stadium.

Leipzig got the first goal of the game in the 8th minute, after Christopher Nkunku scored from a pass from Andre Silva.

The home side got another opportunity in the 12th minute to extend their lead against PSG after Danilo Pereira conceded a penalty for pulling Andre Silva’s shirt in the box.

Andre Silva stepped forward to take the resultant penalty, which was well saved by PSG goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma.

PSG got a deserved equalizer in the 21st minute, when Georginio Wijnaldum scored from an assist from Kylian Mbappe to make it 1-1.

The visitors doubled their tally, in the 39th minute after Georginio Wijnaldum got his brace from Marquinhos’s assist to go 2-1 up.

Leipzig equalized deep into extra time against PSG when Dominik Szoboszlai scored a penalty in the 92nd minute to end the game 2-2.

In the other game in Group A, goals from Phil Folden, Riyad Mahrez, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus in the 15th, 54th, 72nd and 92nd minutes respectively gave City a comprehensive 4-1 win.

John Stones, however, put the ball into his own net in the 17th minute of the game to give Brugge a consolation goal on a very chastising night.
