Man City defiled the snow to beat a determined West Ham United at Etihad Stadium, as they reclaim the second spot from Liverpool

The blue half of Manchester defied very harsh weather to beat West Ham United 2-1 at home, to move back to the second position on the Premier League table.
Liverpool comprehensively beat Southampton yesterday to move ahead of Man City into second position.
City had more possession and goalmouth actions but West Ham stood their ground and threatened through counter-attacks on a few occasions on a snowy afternoon.
The home side eventually made their pressure count in the 33rd minute when IIkay Gundogan lashed onto a cross from Mahrez to score the first goal of the match, making it 1-0 to City.
City continued to dominate proceedings in the second half but the visitors remained resolved defensively and continued employing the counter-attacking option.

The home side got a breakthrough late into the game and scored a second in the 90th minute when substitute, Fernandinho, made it 2-0 from an assist from IIkay Gundogan.
West Ham pulled one back in the 94th minute after Manuel Lanzini scored a sumptuous lob from close to the edge of the penalty box to end the game 2-1 in favor of the home side.
Citys’ win takes them above Liverpool into second position, and on the same points with Chelsea, who play Man United next.
