Madojiemu U-15 Athletics Championship made its debut in 2019 and over 30 schools from Edo State are expected to participate in 2022

Plans are on the way to kick start the 2022 edition of the Princess Mabel Madojiemu Athletics Championship billed for September 29-30 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.
Over 30 schools from Edo State have registered and more are still being expected before the closing date for the registration. According to Edo State athletics head coach Mutiu Oluwa, over 500 U-15 athletes will vie for honors in the championship meant to discover grassroots talents.

He said, “Everything is on course, we are expecting over 500 kids to participate and from the look of things they are excitedly looking forward to the competition.
” We are doing everything we can to have a hitch-free competition and ensure that only athletes under the age limit participate and we are looking at making every participant happy at the end of the championship.
“It is not just the first three that would be getting prizes, all others who participate will go home with gifts and T-shirts.”
