Madein becomes new Accountant General of the federation

Dr. Mrs. Oluwatoyin Sakirat Madein, Nigeria's first female Accountant-General

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Oluwatoyin Sakirat Madein as the substantive Accountant General of the Federation (AGF).

This was contained in a statement by the Director of Communications, Muhammed Abdullahi Ahmed on Friday, in Abuja.

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan who announced the appointment said that the new appointment took effect immediately.

 “The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, CFR made this known today, Friday 19th May, 2023, in Abuja, adding that the appointment is with effect from Thursday, May 18, 2023.” The statement said.

IOluwatoyin Sakirat hails from Iperu Remo Ikenne Local Government Area of Ogun State and was born on 7th of March, 1965.

Until her appointment, she was the Director of Finance and Accounts in the office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, OHCSF.

Maiden succeeds Ahmed Idris in a substantive capacity after the President fired him over stealing N109 billion.

Idris and some others were said to have compromised the Treasury Single Account (TSA), Government Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS), the Integrated Payroll System and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) to steal N109 billion.
