Napoli boss, Luciano Spalletti has allayed the fears of the club’s supporters, after Victor Osimhen picked up what appeared like an injury against Sassuolo on Friday night at the MAPEI Stadium.

Goals from Kvaratskhelia and Osimhen in the 12th and 33rd minutes respectively, ensured the Serie A leaders won the game by a 2 goal margin against their hosts.

However, the Nigerian striker pointed to his thigh after he was substituted in the 85th minute, leaving a lot of the fans worried that they might be missing the services of their prolific striker for sometime.

Reacting to the injury scare after the match,  Luciano Spalletti told DAZN that the issue was nothing serious and that the striker was just tired.

He said, “For what was assessed there straight away, it doesn’t look like anything special, just a bit of tiredness because he (Osimhen) can’t spare himself.

“When he has this urge to push, he stretches and does these runs where you don’t know where he’ll end up.”

Osimhen’s second goal of the game, was his 18th in 19 league appearances for Napoli in the league this season.

The Partenopei have an 18-point lead over Inter Milan, who are their closest rival.
