LP disagrees with Apapa rebels, says Obi not involved in certificate forgery

Peter Obi has no discrepancy in his certificates, the Labour Party (LP) has clarified in riposte to expelled the LP gang led by Lamidi Apapa, an alleged spoiler allegedly funded by Bola Tinubu to destabilise the party before and after he became President.
The allegation was made on Africa Independent Television (AIT) on Thursday by Abayomi Arabambi, a member of the Apapa rebels, who fired the salvo in reply to the comment of the LP presidential candidate on Tinubu’s Chicago State University (CSU) certificate conundrum.
Arambi said: “I was part of the people who did the screening for him [Obi]. In the form EC9 we gave him, he wrote that he attended the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and that he finished his youth service.
“But unfortunately, in the final submission of the form, he only submitted his school certificate [WAEC certificate].
“So something is fishy, and I want to say the name the school sent for mobilisation was not what was written on his NYSC certificate, and he knows that.”
Per reporting by Vanguard, LP National Publicity Secretary Obiora Ifoh countered that, “Arabambi, is obviously doing the bidding of his paymasters who are desperate to destroy our party and distract Nigerians from further querying the less than transparent credentials of President Bola Tinubu.
“He should try something else. Our candidate, Peter Gregory Obi, is a known figure whose parentage, birth, schools attended and record of public service, has never been in dispute.
“Like our candidate himself said publicly yesterday, some of his mates at the University of Nigeria Nsukka are alive. In fact, they are holding high office in the management team of the University today, this can be verified.
“His certificates are in [the] public domain and can be scrutinized by any interested Nigerian.
“Obi has not and will not hire a battery of lawyers to try to block the release of his academic records – he has released them himself. We challenge Arabambi’s principal to do the same and save our nation further embarrassment.”

Ob critics spot seeming discrepancies in his certificates
Obi critics have, however, pointed out what looks like two discrepancies in the certificates he obtained from the West African Examination Council (WAEC), University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), and National Youth Corps Service (NYSC), which he posted on social media, as published by Nairaland:
- The name on his 1978 WAEC certificate bears Obi Gregory Onwubuasi
- The name on his 1984 UNN certificate bears Gregory Peter Onwubuasi Obi
- The name on his 1986 NYSC certificate bears Obi, Gregory Peter Onwubuase
There argument is that (a) there is no ‘Peter’ in his WAEC certificate and (b) Onwubuasi spelling in his WAEC certificate contradicts Onwubuase spelling in his NYSC certificate.
And the critics have asked Obi to clarify why his WAEC certificate does not bear ‘Peter’ and why Onwubuasi in his UNN certificate is spelt Onwubuase in his NYSC certificate.
