Former Manchester United striker, Louis Saha has warned his compatriots, Marcus Thuram and Randal Kolo Muani to be careful as they ponder on joining his former club, saying “good players struggle there”.

Thuram, who is the son of French World Cup winner, Lilian Thuram and Kolo Muani were among the substitutes Didier Deschamps introduced in the second half of their World Cup final defeat to Argentina on Sunday.

They came in for Olivier Giroud and Ousmane Dembele respectively and both players gave Le Blues a much-needed boost.

Their introduction helped the defending champions to fight their way back after going down 2-0 in the first half, as the encounter ended in a thrilling 3-3  draw after extra time.

France, however, ended up suffering a heart-breaking 4-2 defeat in the penalty shootout.

Thuram has scored 13 goals in 17 appearances for Borussia Monchengladbach while Kolo Muani has netted eight in 22 for Eintracht Frankfurt.

The younger Thuram is now in the final six months of his contract at his Bundesliga club and has been linked with a move away to United for as little as €12million next month.

But Louis Saha hopes Marcus Thuram and Randal Kolo Muani will have a deep thought before committing to the project Erik ten Hag is building at Old Trafford.

He said, “Marcus Thuram and Randal Kolo Muani made a brilliant contribution to the game [against Argentina] in very difficult circumstances,” Saha told Paddy Power.

“At this moment in time, young players moving to Manchester United need to be cautious because we have seen some really good players struggle at United. I’m not saying they shouldn’t join because of that, but it’s a difficult time’
