Lookman also highlighted the importance of building on their Champions League’s goalless draw against Arsenal

Atalanta winger, Ademola Lookman has hailed his team’s emphatic victory over Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday night.
La Dea defeated their hosts 3-0 in a Champions League’s matchday two encounter played at the VELTINS-Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
Goals from Berat Djimsiti, Lookman and Raoul Bellanova in the 21st, 44th and 48th minutes respectively ensured that the Bundesliga side’s victory was comprehensive.
The win was, however, Gian Piero Gasperini’s side’s first victory in the UEFA Champions League this season.
Atalanta started their campaign in the competition with a 0-0 home draw against Arsenal.

Speaking with Sky Sports after the impressive win against Shakhtar, Lookman, who was named Player of the Match said, “I’m very happy with the victory. I think tonight’s victory was very important for us to make another step, stronger in Europe.”
The Nigerian international went on to highlight the importance of building on the performance against the Arsenal.
“I think, especially after our first performance against Arsenal at home, we put on a good performance, and to build up on that tonight and to score the goals and win was very important for us going ahead into the next busy schedule that we have,” he added.
The 26-year-old furthest expressed gratitude to his teammates for helping him claim the Player of the Match award.
“It’s always nice to receive these awards. I wouldn’t have been able to do that without the team, and the team had a good performance today,” he declared.
