Sadio Mane scored 6 minutes later, after converting another assist from Trent Alexander-Arnold to make it 2-0 to Liverpool.

Liverpool failed to add to their tally in the second half, despite their numerical advantage, as the game ended 2-0 in favor of Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Porto drew 1-1 with Italian giant AC Milan at San-Siro, to go second in the group behind Liverpool, who have now qualified with two games to spare.

Porto were dominant on the night and were duly rewarded in the 6th minute after Marko Gruijic’s pass found Luiz Diaz, who slotted it in with his right foot.

AC Milan got a lucky equalizer, after Chancel Mbemba sent the ball into his net, after a shot by Pierre Kalulu was blocked.

Since Liverpool are through to the next round,  Porto, AC Milan, and Athletico are now to fight for the second Champions League qualifying spot and the Europa qualifying position
