Manchester United got annihilated on Sunday night, as they were crushed 5-0 by an old foe, Liverpool, at Old Trafford.
Liverpool dominated the derby from start and made their superiority count as early as the 5th minute when Naby Keita scored from a pass from Mohamed Salah.
Diogo Jota made it two 10 minutes later, after an assist from Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Liverpool were not done, Mohammed Salah made it 3-0 to the away side on the 38th minute, after he was put through by Naby Keita.
A terrible evening quickly turned worse for United, as Mohamed Salah scored his brace deep in the extra time of the first half to end the half 4-0 in favor of Liverpool.
The away side continued to dominate possession in the second half and it was not a surprise when Mohammed Salah made it 5-0 for Liverpool and earned the match ball after scoring a hat-trick.
Cristiano Ronaldo thought he had scored a consolation goal for United in the 52nd minute, but it was ruled out by VAR after he was adjudged to be offside.
Paul Pogba further rubbed salt in United’s wound in the 60th minute, when he made a leg-breaking tackle on Naby Keita, who had to be stretched off, and Pogba was given the marching order by the referee.
After the red card, United resorted to damage limitation tactics, until the referee, Anthony Taylor, brought the proceedings to an end after adding 3 extra minutes.
