English Pundit and former Barcelona player, Gary Lineker has said Arsenal winger, Bukayo Saka deserved the English Premier League (EPL) player of the season award.

Lineker made this known after the England international netted a brace and provided an assist when the Gunners trashed Crystal Palace 4-1 in week 28 Premier League fixture played at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Saka apart from scoring two goals himself on either side of Granit Xhaka’s goal, also set up Gabriel Martinelli for Arsenal’s first goal in the comprehensive win over their London rivals.

The 21-year-old has been one of Arsenal’s key players this season, alongside the likes of Martin Odegaard, William Saliba and Thomas Partey.

Speaking on Match of the Day, Gary Lineker said on the basis of what Saka has done this season, he will be voting him to win the EPL player of the season.

He said: “What a player, who, if we voted tomorrow, would get my vote for footballer of the year (yes, as a member of the Football Writers’ Association I do get a vote).”

Saka has scored 12 times and provided 10 assists in 28 league games, thereby earning the record of the only player with double digits in both assists and goals this season.
