Let’s reconcile with aggrieved members, Imo PDP chairman tells party council chairpersons

The State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State, Engr. Charles C. Ugwuh, Wednesday, September 2, 2020 hosted Chairmen/Chairperson of the Party in the 27 Local Governments Areas (LGA), who paid him a maiden courtesy visit since his inauguration as State Chairman.

The visit, which was hosted at the Party State Secretariat, had in attendance 24 of the LGA Chairman/Chairperson, while 3 others were absent on point of excuse.

In his address to them, the State Chairman warmly welcomed them, thanking them for making out time to pay him their first courtesy visit. He congratulated them for emerging LGA Executives of the Party at the Congress earlier in the year. He commended them for strongly holding the fort so far for the Party at their respective LGAs at this critical time when the Party was in opposition. Engr. Ugwuh applauded them for the reports of continued upholding the good image of the Party, promising to work together with them to achieve the set goals of the Party at each point time.

Stressing that the summary of all the efforts by the leaders and members of the Party should be aimed at winning elections for the Party at all levels, the State Chairman implored the LGA Chairmen/Chairperson to reprogramme their strategies to align with the vision to win and rebuild Imo State.

He urged them to intensify efforts at reconciling leaders and members that are aggrieved over one thing or the other, emphasizing that the Party needs everybody to join it and enhance the efforts to reclaim government in Imo State and continue with the great vision of rebuilding the State.

He reiterated that under his watch good brain work, integrity, honesty, dedication, hardwork and necessary sacrifice will remain the guiding principles, inviting the LGA Chairmen/Chairperson to gear up efforts to fit into the new systems that will be introduced to make better the running of the Party and ensure that the Party returns to power and generate dividends of democracy for Imo people.

The State Chairman concluded by charging the LGA Chairmen/Chairperson to work very hard, together with the State Executive Council, stakeholders, leaders and members of Imo PDP, and ensure that PDP reclaimed Okigwe Senatorial seat by winning the October 31, 2020 bye-election.

Earlier, in his speech on behalf of his colleagues, the Aboh Mbaise PDP Chairman, Hon. Obinna Onuamah, stated that they visited the State Chairman to congratulate him on his victory and emergence at the State Congress as well as rub minds with him on current affairs in the Party. Hon. Onuamah assured the State Chairman of the cooperation, support and encouragement of the Party’s LGA Chairmen/Chairperson.

Some members of the State Working Committee (SWC) present at the reception included: Sir Martin Ejiogu, State Deputy Chairman; Hon. Nze Ray Emeaña, State Secretary; Nze Law Biaduo, State Organizing Secretary; Hon. Chief Godson Nwaobasi, State Auditor; Hon. Barr. Josiah Eze, State Treasurer; Hon. Greg Nwadike GOC, State Youth Leader; and Ogubundu Nwadike, State Publicity Secretary.
