Super Eagles defender, Leon Balogun, helped his Scottish club, Ranger beat St Mirren 2-1 to return to the top of the league.

Leon Balogun was not the only Nigerian on parade, as Joe Aribo was also in the lineup which leapfrogged Hearts into the first position after ten games.

St Mirren started on a positive note, as they scored the first goal of the match through Connor Ronan’s spectacular long-range strike in the 4th minute.

They were pegged back by the Rangers in the 42nd minute when Kemar Roofe scored from the penalty spot after Alan Power caught Ianis Hagi inside the penalty area.

Rangers captain, James Tavernier broke clear down the right to give a pass to Alfredo Morelos, who converted it a minute after their equalizer to complete a remarkable comeback for Rangers.

The Colombia Striker, Alfredo Morales, scored a career 100th Rangers goal in the process and helped his side to return to the summit of the Scottish Premiership.

Steven Gerrard’s side now lead with 23 points and are 3 points clear of Hearts in second place, their arch-rivals, Celtic, are fourth with 19 points.
