The Citizens were in devastating form when Leeds United visited the Etihad on Tuesday night, as they ran riot, scoring seven times against the visitors.

Phil Folden capitalized on a series of errors from Leeds Uniteds’ defenders and goalkeeper to open the scoring for Man City in the 8th minute.

Jack Grealish made it 2-0 to City 5 minutes later, after receiving a through pass from Algerian winger, Riyad Mahrez.

Man City scored a third goal in the 32nd minute when Rodri provided a defense splitting pass for Kelvin De Bruyne to make it 3-0 to the host.

Riyad Mahrez turned from a provider to a scorer in the 49th minute, after he converted a pass from IIkay Gundogan to score Citys’ 4th goal.

Leeds United rarely threatened the league champion and leader, and Kelvin De Bruyne scored a brace and Man Citys’ 5th goal in the 62nd minute.

England defender, John Stones, compounded the visitors’ misery when he scored with his left foot in the 74th minute to extend the host lead to 6-0.

City were not done yet, as they capped a dominant evening with a 7th goal after Nathan Ake came in from the bench to head home another goal in the 78th minute.

The league leaders go 4 points clear at the top of the league, as their nearest rival Liverpool, and Chelsea do not play until Thursday.

The fearless attacking play that saw Leeds take three points here in April was nowhere to be seen today, and the hole left by injured midfielder Kalvin Phillips was all too evident.

Bielsa and his players must regroup before they host Arsenal on Saturday evening, but it must be a worry for the Leeds manager that he does not appear to have many options to shuffle what is a slim-looking squad.
