Adeola Adedipe, counsel representing  a company, Common Input Property and Investment Ltd, belonging to former Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT) chairman, Abdulrasheed Maina, has withdrawn his legal services from the money laundering case filed against Maina and his company.

The  counsel  applied to withdraw his services from Maina’s case of money laundering when the case came up on Wednesday, November 25, before Justice Okon  Abang of a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.

At the resumption of proceedings in the case on Wednesday, the counsel said that he has filed a notice, signifying his intention to withdraw from further representation of his client, citing non payment of his legal services as reason for his withdrawal from the case.

Counsel Adedipe also apologised to the court for being absent from proceedings during some of the recent adjournments.

In his ruling, Justice Abang, who had on the previous day, held that, by being absent in court, Adedipe had abandoned proceedings, said that the notice the counsel claimed to have filed was not in the court’s file.

Meanwhile, Maina has consistently failed to appear in court for the continuation of his trial which led to the revocation of his bail by Justice Abang.

The judge also ordered a bench warrant for Maina’s arrest anywhere he is sighted
