England and Chelsea forward, Lauren James, has said her team’s Round of 16 clash against Nigeria’s Super Falcons at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup will be a ‘very tough’ one.
She made the prediction, when speaking at her post-match interview after England walloped China 6-1 in their final Group D encounter on Tuesday.
The English girls, who after the victory secured the top spot in their group, will now face Nigeria, who qualified in Group B as the runner-up in Brisbane on August 7 and James is already relishing the encounter.

According to the Blues star, the tie against the Super Falcons is going to be a difficult one because the so-called lesser teams are catching up and there are no easy games anymore.
Speaking with ITV about the upcoming Round of 16 tie, Lauren James said: “Nigeria is going to be very tough, to be fair every team has been tough, even watching the other games.
“Teams are catching up with each other and I know that will be another very difficult game.”
