LASTMA unveils female bikers to curtail traffic violators

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has introduced all female bikers as part of efforts to ensure effective monitoring and enforcement of vehicular movement within the state highways.

According to the traffic agency’s verified Facebook on Sunday, the female bikers with code name ”Female Troopers”, have taken it upon themselves to prove that women can thrive in jobs and responsibilities that have long been tagged as for men.

The initiative is part of the authority’s effort to ensure road safety in Lagos state

The female bikers are trained to navigate through traffic and respond to emergencies.

The unit is also aimed at promoting gender equality and providing opportunities for women in a traditionally male-dominated field

The ‘Female Elite Corp’ is part of LASTMA’s efforts to reduce accidents and ensure a smoother flow of traffic on Lagos roads
Recall that the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) launched a female motorcycle unit known as the ‘Female Elite Corp’ in 2023.

“Poised to make a difference in an area that has been known to be dominated by men, the Female Bikers known as Female Troopers have taken it upon themselves to prove that Women can thrive in jobs and responsibilities that have long been tagged as for Men.

“LASTMA under the Leadership of Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki has started, and is instituting a number of changes that have started to put the Agency on the pedestal of positive light which will make it the envy of well meaning citizens and people in the State, Nation and World at large.
