Chelsea legend and Everton manager, Frank Lampard, has applauded Alex Iwobi for the way he adapted and ultimately influenced their shock 1-0 win over Manchester United on Saturday.
The relegation threatened Toffees defeated Ralf Rangnick’s men in front of a packed crowd at Goodison Park, despite their poor showing in recent times, the latest being the loss to Burnley after taking the lead.
Lampard started Iwobi in central midfield, after previously using him in wide positions and was impressed by what the Nigerian midfielder offered.
He praised the 25-year-old for his ability to adapt, saying he worked his socks off in the game, just like he did in other games.

He also said the Nigerian International showed character, despite the individual error he made in one of the games they lost recently.
“Alex [Iwobi] is one who people can see I rely on. We have moved his position, we have changed in and he has offered so much,” Lampard said as quoted by Liverpool World.
“I think you could feel the crowd’s reaction towards him today with his energy and qualities.
“I don’t know how many kilometres he has run this week but he’s done it again [on Saturday].
“It is about character and Premier League players get questioned in difficult moments. A lot of questions asked about [him] and me over the last few days, especially if you make those individual errors.”
