Lampard who played alongside Mikel Obi during Chelsea’s UEFA Champions League 2012 final victory over Bayern Munich, wished him good luck in his future endeavours

Frank Lampard, Everton manager and former teammate of former Nigerian international, John Obi Mikel at Chelsea, has sent best wishes to the midfielder, who retired from football on Tuesday.
Lampard recalled the moment he played next to Mikel Obi during Chelsea’s UEFA Champions League 2012 final victory over Bayern Munich.
The Englishman went on to wish one of the most gifted African midfielders and former Super Eagles captain good luck in the rest of his endeavours.

In a post via Instagram, Lampard wrote: “Congratulations on your amazing career mate. A pleasure playing next to you and sharing that beautiful 120 minutes in Munich with you.
“Good luck for all that’s coming.”
Mikel Obi on Tuesday, September 27, confirmed his retirement from football in a post on his Instagram account.
He wrote, “There is a saying that ‘all good things must come to an end’, and for my professional football career, that day is today./
“I look back at the past 20 years of my career, and I must say that I am very satisfied with all that I was able to achieve and more importantly the human it has helped shape.”
The 35-year-old Nigerian retired after a successful career with the Nigeria national team and at the club level, winning various medals and trophies.
