Lagos police command begins orderly room trial of alleged killer cop, Inspector Charles

Police Inspector Okoro Charles has appeared at the Provost department of the Lagos state police command for allegedly shooting and killing one Fatai Oladipupo.

The inspector who is attached to Ikotun Division, would after the Orderly Room trial, be handed over to the state criminal investigation department, Yaba, for prosecution in conventional court if found guilty, according to a statement signed by the police public relations officer, DSP Bala Elkana.

Inspector Okoro was arrested in connection with a shooting incident reported on May 20, at Ikotun which led to the death of Oladipupo, a 28 year old Nigerian.

“investigation is ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding the shooting incident.

“The Commissioner of Police condoles with the family and friends of the deceased and calls for calm. He assures them that Justice will prevail. Members of the Public will be updated on the outcome of the investigation,” Elkana said.
