Lagos Countdown 2014 events begin

On Friday, December 5, Star lager beer, in collaboration with the Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA), officially announced plans for the third annual Lagos Crossover Festival, which has since kicked off on December 8 and will hold events till January 1, 2015 in Lagos.

Among the events scheduled to take place from today are: Karaoke Night, at the Bar Beach from 8pm. December 17 and 18 will host the Festival of Light, while December 20 and 21 will be Disco Night. On December 21 and 22 will be Movie Night. The next date will be dedicated to children when they engage in a dance competition. That is not the only competition in the countdown, as a photography competition will hold a day before, on December 22.

 

Other events include: Santa’s grotto and Christmas Eve fireworks, Children’s Christmas party, Club Night/ DJ Battle Finale and Raffle Draw.

 

The big one is the Lagos Countdown concert & New Year’s Eve countdown on December 31, which will go on till January 1.

 

Managing Director of LASAA, George Noah, said: “We are hoping to give Lagosians and visitors a Countdown experience like never before.” He further stated that the agency is better positioned to host this year’s event based on its experience over the last two years.

 

Lagos Countdown is an annual event by the Lagos State Government. The first edition was held in 2012 at the reclaimed Bar Beach stretch, Victoria Island.
