The dust that the botched All Progressives Congress (APC) local government election primaries raised in Lagos State may not settle soon as four out of six chairmanship aspirants in Ejigbo LCDA have urged the leadership of the party to urgently make a pronouncement on the next line of action in the interest of the party.
The aspirants insisted that the leadership of the party at the local government did not at any time call them for any meeting to choose a consensus candidate.
They, therefore, called on the Lagos State leadership of APC, State Electoral Committee and the National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to jettison any name presented by the Ejigbo LCDA APC leadership.
They stressed that they are ready to work with anyone who is picked among the four of them as candidate.
“The aspirants hereby urge the party leadership not to relent in their efforts to ensure that the party will field someone capable of carrying the day in the forthcoming LG poll.”
While pledging their loyalty to the party, they promised to abide by any decision reached by the party leadership which they are optimistic will be in the “best interest of the party, Lagos State and Nigeria.”
They also called on party members across the 57 LGs and LCDAs to remain calm and support the party to ensure victory for APC in the forthcoming LG polls.
