Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has commiserated with the families of former Iyaloja General of the State Abebi Akosile and Vice Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Offa Hassan Salami who died recently.
“Mama Abebi Akosile was an institution on her own, having come a long way in the sociopolitical and economic milieu of not just Kwara but the entire northern region. She ranked among Nigeria’s foremost female legends like the late Gambo Sawaba and Abibatu Magaji, among others. Her reign as Iyaloja General of Kwara State also recorded tremendous growth and development. We pray God Almighty to grant her Aljannah Firdaus,” AbdulRazaq said in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye.
The governor also recalled that the late businesswoman was an associate of his own mother Alhaja Raliat Abdul-Razaq and longstanding friend of the AbdulRazaq Family
The statement similarly praised the contributions of Hassan Salami to not just opposition politics in Kwara State but to the victory of the APC in the 2019 ballot.
“We are sad that Alhaji Hassan left at a very critical moment in the journey of our state to greatness. But we are consoled by the fact that he was one of the pillars in Kwara’s struggle for socioeconomic and political turnaround. We commiserate with his immediate family and the leadership of our party at all levels on this sad loss. We pray the Almighty God to forgive his shortcomings,” the statement added.
