Rabiu Kwankwaso has inaugurated his Presidential Campaign Council with announcement he will begin zonal rallies on 12 January in the home stretch of his three-way battle against the front runners for the Villa.

He told supporters at the launch in Abuja the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) is working round the clock to ensure a new Nigeria takes off on 29 May with Muhammadu Buhari handing over to him as the new President.

“In the name of God the Almighty, I hereby inaugurate the RMK [Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso] 2023 Presidential Campaign Council [RPK PCC] for the benefit of all Nigerians and in the overall interest of building a new Nigeria where, justice, equity, fairness, unity, security, and development are assured.

“I wish to call on all well-meaning Nigerians especially members of the ideology-driven NNPP and all its support groups to join hands with the PCC and all the committees of the PCC,” Kwankwaso pleaded, per Vanguard.

“I am happy to announce that beginning from the 12th of this month (January), we will start our zonal rallies in Bauchi for the North East, Kaduna on the 14th for the North West, and Lafia on the 16th for the North Central.

“We will push the zonal rallies for a couple of days to create time to travel to London to honour the invitation from the Royal Institute of International Affairs, Chatham House, and present a discussion paper to a selected global audience.

“Immediately after our return from the UK, we shall resume the zonal rallies and complete the remaining zones.”

Kwankwaso adamant he will never support APC, PDP

Last week, Kwankwaso denied yet again rumour and propaganda swirling in the North that he is working for another political party to win the Villa on 25 February.

He restated his stand in response to questions on a live radio programme in Dutse, explaining since he and his supporters joined the NNPP some people have been concocting lies for political reasons.

“I heard that some people are saying Northern elders met me and asked me to step down for a Northern candidate and some are saying I am romancing with APC [All Progressives Alliance],” he said.

“Who can tell us about Arewa? Who knows Arewa better than us? These are candidates that have issues with their qualifications and health.”

Rumour mongers out to distract voters

Kwankwaso insisted the rumour is baseless and was made up by miscreants to distract Nigerians.

“God forbid I work or romance with APC, PDP [Peoples Democratic Party], I am for NNPP, there is no going back.

“This is a golden opportunity for all Nigerians if they want things to change for the better. NNPP is the answer and if they want things to continue, so be it.”
