The national leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has expressed confidence that his party will dethrone the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2017, boasting that he will become Nigeria’s next president.

The former Kano State governor made this known in Kastina on Saturday while inaugurating the NNPP Secretariat in the state.

He was also in the state for a condolence visit to the Yar’Adua family over the death of their matriarch, Hajiya Dada.

Kwankwaso, who was the party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections during the event said NNPP was ready to take over the presidency, states and other positions across the country come 2027.

He further added that the major opposition party in the country, the Peoples Democratic Party is dead, adding that he left the party after it went out of line.

“I wish to remind you that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is already dead, because we were in the party, since they have gone out of the line, we decided to check out,” Kwankwaso said.

He went on to appeal to electorates,  particularly women and youths not to allow themselves to be “deceived with spaghetti or money during the next elections”.

He also called on the party’s leaders to redouble their commitment towards the success of the party in the state and the country as a whole.

Kwankwaso commended them and other stakeholders in the state for renovating the state secretariat, saying that it is part of preparations towards success.
