KolaDaisi University holds Guest Lecture

KolaDaisi University VC, Prof. Olatunbosun will host the event, while Prof. Amusan of North West University, South Africa is the guest lecturer

The Department of Political Science and International Relations of KolaDaisi University, Ibadan (KDU-I), Oyo State, has announced that the maiden edition of its Guest Lecture series will take place on Tuesday, April 18. 

This was disclosed during a recent chat with the acting head of the department, Dr. Adebukola Ayoola, who doubled as the coordinator of the event. 

According to her, the programme is expected to take place at Agbeke Auditorium within the university campus KM 18, Ibadan/Oyo Expressway by 1pm. 

Ayoola also told TheNiche that the lecture titled “Asphyxiation of Organic Food in Africa and Introduction of Neo-regulatory Framework through Ultra Capitalism of the 21st Century” will be hosted by the Vice Chancellor of KolaDaisi University, Prof. Adeniyi Olatunbosun SAN. 

Delivering the lecture is Prof. Lere Amusan, a professor of International Relations and Chair, Department of Politics and International Relations,  North West University, South Africa.

Amusan, the guest lecturer of the event has published widely on politics of development and underdevelopment in Africa with a special focus on food politics and policies. 

He is also an alumnus of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Nigeria and United States Institute, Washington DC

Speaking on the essence of the lecture, Ayoola said: “It is germain to stress the importance and timeliness of the subject matter as the world, especially Africa is faced with the challenge of food security at this time. 

“Food as an indispensable weapon of war is critical to human existence and survival hence a thorough examination of the politics and policies driving food security as one of the agenda of Sustainable Development Goals.”
