The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has directed the All Progressives Congress (APC) to fill the vacuum created by the death of its Kogi State governorship election candidate, ex-frontrunner, Prince Abubakar Audu, in order to continue with supplementary election on December 5.
Audu, who was leading, died Sunday morning just as INEC was collating the results of the previous day, November 21 election.
Mrs Augusta Ogakwu, INEC Secretary, announced in a statement that INEC would allow the conclusion of the election process by conducting supplementary election in the remaining 91 polling units where election results were cancelled for various irregularities.
