Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp has praised his Egyptian striker, Mohamed Salah, after he got the only goal of the encounter against the league Champions, Man City at Anfield on Sunday.
The win over the Citizens gave Liverpool a renewed belief after what has been a difficult start to the season, which saw Salah score only 2 league goals before the encounter.
Unlike the previous game, the Reds were compact against City and were able to contain Guardiola’s men, who had a Phil Foden goal controversially disallowed.

After the match, Klopp praised Mohamed Salah for netting the winner in front of the Kop after missing a similar chance earlier and insisted he made the goal happen.
He said, “Mo played an exceptional game. Absolutely outstanding. Yes, obviously he was one of two strikers in the centre together with Bobby. Great, an absolutely top performance.
“The goal was world-class. Again, a colleague of yours asked me if I think we were a bit lucky in that moment because [Joao] Cancelo missed the ball.
“I didn’t see a player missing the ball, I saw a player using his body extremely well and being there in the one-on-one situation with the goalie. So, a top-class goal.
“The situation immediately before was really unlucky that he didn’t score there already. Apart from that, good on the ball, a constant threat in behind, working extremely hard, an outstanding performance, honestly. It was really”
Jurgen Klopp also confirmed that Portuguese forward, Diego Jota will miss Liverpool’s match against West Ham United on Wednesday night.
Jota was stretchered off in stoppage time during the win against Manchester City and the club now await for a full diagnosis to be done.
Commenting on the injury Klopp said, “We miss the next one with Diogo. He felt real pain in that moment but I have no idea how bad it is. If Diogo stays down it is not good.” He also went on to add: “I saw it on the side on the screen, I am the first who saw it.
“When I saw he goes down and there was not a lot of contacts, you can see a little bit that somebody kicks his foot and maybe the muscle got overstretched, 96 minutes, that’s not good for the muscle.”
After Liverpool host the Hammers, the games continue to come thick and fast for Jurgen Klopp:s men, who are now 8th on the table.
They travel to Nottingham Forest, then Ajax and host Leeds United before welcoming Napoli to Merseyside – all in less than a fortnight as they attempt to get their league campaign back on track.
