King Sunny Ade slaps band member for picking his money

The albums ‘Juju Music’ (1982) and ‘Synchro System’ (1983),  garnered King Sunny Ade a Grammy nomination, a first for a Nigerian artist

Juju maestro, Chief Sunday Adeniyi Adegeye, known professionally as King Sunny Adé is currently trending on social media after he was spotted in a viral video chastising a band member. 

The legendary singer was in the middle of a performance when a guest stepped forward to appreciate his efforts with wads of cash.  

A band member then attempted to pick the bundle of cash but this didn’t go down well with the 75-year-old, who landed a playful slap on the individual’s back.

Shortly after, another guest handed a wad of naira to King Sunny Ade and the same band member tried to help reposition the cash into his back pocket properly.

The ace musician allowed him for a few seconds but eventually chased him off with a kick even in the middle of the performance. 

Netizens who found the viral video hilarious thereafter took to the comment section to say different things, some, however, blamed the harsh socio-economic situation in the county for his action.
