Suspected kidnappers on Saturday killed two people along Obbo-Ayegunle-Osi road in Kwara State when they attacked a commercial bus.
The two people killed were said to be the driver of the 18-seater commercial bus who was simply identified as Akeem and a female passenger identified as Mama Ariye.
The kidnappers whose identity and number are not yet known were said to have abducted other passengers of the bus.
They were said to have shot into the bus thereby fatally injuring the two who died on the spot before they took away the remaining passengers.
The deceased as well as most of the abducted victims were said to be residents of Obbo-Ayegunle which, just like Osi town on the other end of the road, is in Ekiti local government area of the state.

The state police command said police while the corpses of the deceased had been deposited in the mortuary of a hospital in the area, the police and other security agents are on the trail of the kidnappers with a mission to arrest them and rescue the kidnapped.
The command’s public relations officer, Okasanmi Ajayi, in a statement, said the state Commissioner of Police, Tuesday Assayomo, who directed a manhunt for the kidnappers assured that the suspects would be brought to book.
The statement reads in part: “Commissioner of Police, CP Tuesday Assayomo psc (+) on hearing of the unfortunate incident directed that a massive manhunt for the perpetrators of the heinous crime must commence, gave a marching order to the Area Commander and the Divisional Police officers covering the area to move into the bushes to ensure that the kidnapped victims were rescued and the kidnappers arrested.
“While empathizing with the families of the deceased, the Commissioner of Police assures that the perpetrators of the crime would be smoked out from wherever they may be hiding.
“Consequently, the CP directed a 24 hourly patrol of the area in conjunction with other sister security agencies to boost the confidence of the people and to also prevent any further attack in the area.”
