Omoba de Jumbo Beats’ leader and his crew were abducted while returning from a show in Kogi State

Leader of an Abuja-based juju band, Omoba de Jumbo Beats and his crew, who were abducted along the Lokoja highway have finally regained freedom after days in captivity.
On Monday, several news outlets had earlier reported that singer, Adeyinka Adeboye via a social media post revealed that the band leader was kidnapped alongside his crew while returning from a show in Kogi State.
He went on to say the gunmen were demanding N10 million ransom for the release of each member of the musical group.
Sharing the pictures of the victims via his social media page, Adeboye wrote; “This is so scary. God have mercy. @omobadejumbobeats and his band men were kidnapped on their way to Kogi from Abuja for a performance yesterday, please we need help as the kidnappers are demanding a N10 million ransom on each member.”

However, in a new development on Thursday, a popular gospel singer, Adegbodu Taiwo revealed the band has been released.
Taking to his social media page, he shared a video of the band leader and his crew as they were being ushered out of a white bus.
Captioned it, Taiwo wrote: “To God alone be the glory, Omoba de Jumbo beats and his crew are back to Abuja safely. No more sorrow, IJN @omobadejumbobeats.”
Details surrounding the release of the band are still sketchy at the time of this report, while the amount paid as ransom was not disclosed.
