Kepa Arrizabalaga left disappointed after Carabao Cup loss

Chelsea goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga failed to reproduce his recent penalty heroics, as he shot the decisive spot-kick over the crossbar

Spanish goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga has finally spoken for the first time since his team lost the final of the Carabao Cup 11-10  on penalties to Liverpool at the Wembley Stadium. 

The Reds of  Liverpool and The Blues of Chelsea faced each other in the final of the first domestic cup this season in England and it lived up to expectations.

The incident-packed clash eventually went right down to the wire after none of the teams could find the winning goal after 120 minutes.

Kepa Arrizabalaga,  Chelseas’ number two goalkeeper was brought in to replace Edouard Mendy in the final minutes of extra time to be in the post during the penalty shootout.  

However, he failed to reproduce some of his recent heroics, as he was unable to stop any of the spot-kicks by the Liverpool players on the night. 

Apart from that, the Chelsea goalkeeper missed his penalty, as he fired the decisive spot-kick over the crossbar.

The 27-year-old after the loss has now taken to social media to say he is “disappointed” but promised they will “keep working”.

He tweeted, ” To fall and rise. Disappointed after a big effort during the tournament. We keep working.

“Thanks, @ChelseaFC family, for your support.”
