Keffi: Shehu Usman Yamusa II is the new Emir – Gov Al-Makura

Dr. Shehu Usman Yamusa II, the first son of the late emir of Keffi, Alhaji Mohammadu Chindo Yamusa II, has succeeded his father after securing five votes out of possible seven to emerge victorious.

Amb. Umaru Azores Sulaiman, Secretary to the State Government said in a statement, “Following the successful selection exercise conducted on Monday, 14th December, 2015, to select new emir of Keffi, Governor Umaru Tanko Almakura of Nasarawa State on the advice of the state council of chiefs has approved the appointment of Dr. Shehu Usman Yamusa II as the new emir of Keffi”.

Dr. Shehu Usman Yamusa II, the new emir of Keffi was born on the 4th of November, 1966. He attended the Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto, University of Dundee, Scotland, and International Islamic University, Malaysia, where he obtained Bachelor of Law (LLB), Masters of Law (ML) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.d Energy Laws) renewable energy and sustainable development, respectively.

Until his appointment, the new emir of Keffi was a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Law of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi.

The late senior emir passed on December 4, 2015.
