Veteran actress, Kate Henshaw, has been elected the National Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN).
The guild’s National Secretary, Abubakar Yakubu, announced this in a statement on Tuesday in Lagos, stating that she was elected unopposed.
Yakubu said that Kate was elected on January 9 during a by-election on the sidelines of a special National Executive Council meeting to fill a few vacant posts.
He also said Michael Yusuf defeated Rilwan Ibiefo to become the Vice President of AGN, North West zone, replacing Alhaji Wash Waziri who occupied the position in the last tenure.
“Henshaw will be in charge of disseminating strategic communication among guild and non-guild members,” he said.

Kate, 51, takes over from Monalisa Chinda-Coker who declined to contest for a second term in November 2022.
Meanwhile, Emeka Rollas was returned unopposed in November for a second tenure as the National President of AGN.
Rollas polled 115 affirmation votes against four nays to retain his position.
The AGN is the largest actors association in the culture sector in Africa.
