Kalu Aja says Tinubu created livestock ministry to placate North

Bola Tinubu’s intention in creating the new Ministry of Livestock Development is for the purpose of winning re-election as President in 2027, and he is not keen on budgetary discipline, says financial analyst Kalu Aja.
Tinubu is also grandstanding and not really interested in implementing the Oransanya Report on reducing the number of ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) to reduce the cost of governance, Aja stressed, and highlighted how the new bureaucracy will only add to a cabinet that is already the largest in Nigeria’s history.
Aja was reacting to Tinubu’s announcement of the creation of the ministry on Tuesday while inaugurating the Presidential Committee on Livestock Reforms at the Villa in Abuja.
He wondered in a post on X (Twitter) why the administration which promised to implement the Oransanya Report is creating a brand new ministry for cows, when it already has 48 ministries.
“If the North today asks for Federal land and federal funding for RUGA, they will get it. If they ask for all roads to have air conditioning, they will get it also,” Aja speculated.
“This President is not interested in budgetary discipline or implementing the Oransanya report; he is only interested in reelection
“The administration that spoke eloquently about implementing the Oransanya report is creating a brand new ministry for cows.
“To my Northern brothers and sisters, please, I am not attacking you; you know how to play this fiscal federalism game well.
“You have gotten Sokoto to Lagos ‘super highway’, kudos; push harder, and you will get an inland port in Kano with complete dredging of inland Rivers.
“To ‘Ndi economists’, budget watchers, and those expecting an economic miracle, I say ‘collect your L in peace.’”
