Former Chelsea midfielder, Jorginho has completed a late move to Premier League leaders, Arsenal after the Blues agreed on a deal worth £12million for the Italian.
The Gunners will pay £10million up front to the Blues, with a further two million in add-ons which could hinge on the North London’s club lifting the Premier League trophy.
After the deal was completed, Arsenal’s Sporting Director, Edu welcomed the player to the Emirates, saying he will bring a strong mentality and experience to the young squad.
He said: “Jorginho is an established professional with a strong mentality who brings quality and experience into our squad.
“He is a player who fits our style of play, and he joins us at a very good moment where he can contribute in a key position to help maintain our momentum. We welcome Jorginho to Arsenal.”
Manager Mikel Arteta added: “Jorginho is a midfield player with intelligence, deep leadership skills and a huge amount of Premier League and international experience. Jorginho has won in his career, but he still has the hunger and huge willingness to contribute here.
“We are so pleased to sign Jorginho and welcome him and his family to the club.”

The 31-year-old Italian midfielder is expected to join up with his new teammates ahead of Saturday’s league match at Everton and will wear the number 20 shirt.
Jorginho, who has a vast amount of experience has scored 21 times for Chelsea in 143 games.
He has also been a regular in the Italy national team squad in the last five years, making 46 appearances and winning Euro 2020 with his country.
