Jonathan holds closed-door meeting with Ortom

Former President Goodluck Jonathan held at least 40 minutes meeting with the Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom.

The meeting, held in Abuja at the residence of the former president, was held behind a closed door with former President Jonathan and Governor Ortom as the only participants in the room.

Ortom served as minister of state, trade and investments, and later the supervising minister, ministry of aviation under former President Jonathan.

The meeting is coming after the hoopla that the former president Jonathan had joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and was billed to contest the presidency under the ruling party.

According to Ortom’s Chief Press Secretary, Nathaniel Ikyur, “The duo met behind closed doors for more than 40 minutes and discussed frankly. Although none of them spoke to the press when they came out, they were beaming with smiles with the former president exchanging pleasantries.”

Daily Trust says the siscussion between Jonathan and Ortom was said to be centred on the fortunes of the PDP and the victory of the party in the forthcoming general elections.

Ortom was accompanied by some members of the Benue state executive council.
