Former Chelsea defender and captain, John Terry, has described his former teammate, Mikel Obi as a patriotic Nigerian

Former Chelsea and England captain, John Terry, has described former Nigerian captain, John Mikel Obi, as a patriotic citizen of the country.
Terry and Brazilian, Roberto Carlos, were recently invited to Nigeria by Budweiser to feature in a game tagged “Battle of the Greats” at Onikan Stadium.
Speaking to the press recently, the former English defender described Mikel, as a proud Nigerian and a friend of his.

He said over the years he had the privilege of playing with some Nigerians, but added that Mikel was in the habit of telling him how beautiful Nigeria is.
Terry, who spent 19 years at Stamford Bridge, won all manners of laurels with the club.
He also played alongside some former Super Eagles players such as Mikel, Victor Moses, and Celestine Babayaro.
In his words: “I got to play with some big legends from Nigeria.
“The most recent John Obi Mikel, who probably at Chelsea was one of my best friends, he is a very proud man of where he comes from.
“He always made it clear to us English players how beautiful his country was and how much passion you guys showed.”
