Afrobeats singer and songwriter, Joseph Akinfenwa, better known as Joeboy, has acknowledged the role played by ace singer, Ayodeji Balogun aka Wizkid in the growth of young Nigerian artistes.
The ‘Baby’ crooner made this known during an interview on the latest episode of the Body & Soul audiovisual podcast.
According to him, the Grammy-Awards winner made young artistes in the country believe in themselves and that they can hit stardom at a very tender age.

During the chat, Joeboy also argued that prior to the emergence of Wizkid, it was difficult for young artistes to hit the limelight.
He went on to say it was after his part crossed that of Wizkid, that he knew he would become a superstar.
He said: “One thing I really appreciate about Wizkid is that he made young artistes believe that they could pop [hit stardom] at a young age.
” Before Wiz, if any artiste pop, it was probably at a very later stage in life. But after Wiz young people started coming through.”
Meanwhile, Joeboy recently decided to bring succor to Lagos residents who are feeling the impact of the petrol price hike occasioned by subsidy removal by President Tinubu-led administration
Taking to his social media page on Tuesday, he announced plans to provide residents of Lagos with free buses to help cushion the effect of the increase in transportation fares.
Speaking via his Twitter handle, he wrote: “I know the fuel subsidy p is hard on everyone right now so here’s my little way of helping. For the next 3 days, there will be FREE Body & Soul buses along the following routes between 8 am and 5 pm.
“Enjoy the ride, Love you guys❤️”.
