A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has called out Nigeria’s Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke aka Davido after warning Americans citizens against relocating to Nigeria.

The ‘Electricity’ crooner had while featuring on ‘The Big Homies House podcast’, warned Black Americans against contemplating relocation to Africa, especially Nigeria, saying the country’s economy is in “shambles.”

Davido was reacting to concerns over potential anti-black policies in the United States after the emergency of Donald Trump as the 47th president of the country.

Speaking during the chat, he said, “It is not cool back home. The economy is in shambles. I do my part, l am an ambassador. When I go home and I am filming, I am not going to show the bad parts.

“I am talking about the situation in the country. Now the exchange rate is messed up, a lot of stuffs are not going well. The economy is just not good enough. The oil price is too high. Imagine the country that produces oil, paying more for it than a country importing oil”

Reacting to his comments, Igbokwe demanded a retraction from Davido, saying that the country made him who he is.

Taking to his Facebook page, he wrote, “My in-law Davido has made me sad by telling the world in America that Nigeria’s economy is in shambles. This is very sad. I will advise him to retract the statement ASAP. Nigeria made Davido. QED!!!”
