Jimi Agbaje to APC: If you’re for war, we will resist you

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the March 9 election has warned the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to stay away from violence or risk the people’s resistance.

In a video broadcast, Agbaje warned that what happened during the February 23 presidential and national assembly elections where voters in PDP strongholds were intimidated, and subsequently attacked after the elections, would not be tolerated again.

“To the ruling party, we come in peace but if your expression is fear and violence, you’d be shocked that we would resist you and we would prevail,”Agbaje warned in the two minutes video broadcast on Twiter.

The timing of the video coincided with the agitation of a group that calls itself ‘Orange Movement for a Free Lagos State’ seeking to wrestle power from the self styled godfather of the state’s politics, Bola Tinubu.

A press conference by the group scheduled to hold on February 28 at the Lagos Airport Hotel was dispersed by riot policemen.

The arrowheads of the movement later moved their agitation to the social media with the hashtag #OtogeLagos.
